Witte Rook on Sunday afternoon - Meet the residents

Een studio heeft meerdere betekenissen, die van werkruimte maar ook een ruimte om gasten te ontvangen. Gastateliers zijn daar speciaal op ingericht en verbinden ook een programma aan de werkperiode. Er is tijd en ruimte om te experimenteren, te werken, te reflecteren maar ook voor ontmoeting.

In onze serie van informele lezingen, Witte Rook op zondagmiddag, leggen we deze keer de focus op de ervaringen van kunstenaars met Artist in Residence. Debbie Schoone (visual artist, deelnemer WKNDX) Heidi Vogels (artist, DutchCulture | TransArtists) en Chantal van Rijt (visual artist, deelnemer International Talent Program 2016 BredaPhoto) vertellen over de betekenis hiervan voor hun beroepspraktijk. Wat zijn de verschillen tussen de diverse AIR programma’s en wat is daarbij belangrijk voor hun werk en ambities? There is more than one way to describe a studio. It is a place to work but also a space to receive guests. In the case of Artist in Residence there is more than a studio for work, it is also a matter of making connections in which the program provides. There is time and space for experiment, to work, to reflect but also to meet.
