Vrouwenmantel Art Research Group is a Dutch based art initiative who creates spaces for researching the maternal in art, the maternal that can be assumed in the art practice and alternative models in art that are found on a care-based work ethic in which being a parent and an artist can form a symbiosis.
Vrouwenmantel organizes research groups, writes and publishes articles and publications, organizes a podcastserie on the maternal in art and collaborates with other artists and cultural organizations. The research that has taken place within Vrouwenmantel is regularly published on our website, social media and in the monthly Vrouwenmantel Art Research Group newsletter.
All of the above is organized and created by a fast growing community of parents and caregivers in the arts.
